Essential information you need to know
Why are we moving hotels everyday?

Iceland is best explored via the Ring Road. Since it's a circular route with no possible safe way to cut through the landmass in the middle, it is advisable to change accommodations every day to avoid backtracking and wasting time.

When can we see the Northern Lights?

There is no assurance and no definite schedule to view the Northern Lights as it is a natural phenomenon. These factors have to be present for the Aurora to be easily visible:

  • High Solar Activity
  • Clear Skies
  • Minimal Moonlight or Minimal Light Pollution
  • When can we see the Northern Lights?

What's assuring is that you will be joining a tour which puts this on top of the priority list. Tour Leaders are also very knowledgeable and study daily Aurora forecasts. So far, we have 100% sightings in all our previous Iceland tours and we have the right camera and tripods to take your photos!

But to manage expectations, it is better to think of Northern Lights as a "bonus" to Iceland's beautiful landscapes to avoid disappointments.

Is the food in Iceland good?

Here are some famous Icelandic Food: Lamb Soup, Dried Fish Jerky, Salmon, Skyr, Roasted Lamb, Fermented Shark, and Icelandic Hotdog.

Are they good? Not all but it depends on each person's preference. We have already scouted some restaurants along the way since once we go out of the Capital, we will only be coming across a few good restaurants in each area.

Is everything really expensive in Iceland?

A normal average meal costs around 1500-2000 pesos. Commodities and souvenir items are relatively expensive compared to other countries.

How are the activities? Do we need to be fit?

In our activity lists, we have chosen activities that are relatively easy to moderate. Some examples are:

  • Glacier Snowmobile - a ride on top of the Glacier
  • Blue Lagoon / Sky Lagoon - a leisurely swim
  • Ice Cave Tour - quite an interesting & active hike
  • Northern Lights Hunt - wait for the lights to be visible

However, there will be moderate to long walks in some stops. It is advisable to exercise / be active prior to visiting Iceland or joining this tour. There are other factors too that can make an easy hike challenging like strong winds, rain etc.
