Tour Itinerary

DAY 1: MANILA - COPENHAGEN (MEALS ON BOARD)

Your Arctic jourey begins as you depart from Manila on an international flight bound for Copenhagen, Denmark.

DAY 2: COPENHAGEN (MEALS ON BOARD/D)

Arrival in Copenhagen. You will transfer to a hotel conveniently located near the airport, where you can rest and prepare for your expedition to Greenland

DAY 3: COPENHAGEN - KANGERLUSSUAQ (ON BOARD L/D)

On the first day of our expedition, we board our flights bound for Kangerlussuaq, located on the west coast of Greenland.

Upon arrival in Kangerlussuaq, you will be transferred to the small port located west of the airport, where the Ocean Albatros awaits at anchor. Zodiacs will shuttle us the short distance to the ship, where you will check in to your stateroom. After the mandatory safety drill, enjoy dinner and a glass of champagne as we set sail on our adventure through the 160-kilometre Kangerlussuag Fjord

DAY 4: SISIMIUT (Greenland's Second City) (ON BOARD B/L/D)

After breakfast, Ocean Albatros will arrive in the colorful city of Sisimiut.

The bustling city center offers a vivid look into daily life in 21st-century Greenland, where ancient traditions like seal hunting coexist with modern technology. Visitors can take a refreshing stroll around Spedjese, enjoy an exhibition at the city's cultural center Taseralik, delve into the region's heritage at the local museum, or explore the Artists' Workshop, where discerning shoppers can buy traditional artworks directly from the artists themselves. As evening falls, we will depart from Sisimiut and sail into the iceberg-studded waters of Disko Bay (Qeqertarsuup Tunua) as Ocean Albatros charts a course toward @egertarsuag

DAY 5: QEQERTARSUAQ (Disko Island) (ON BOARD B/L/D)

Nestled below Disko Island's 1,000-metre mountains, we pull into port in a beautifully sheltered natural harbour. The place was aptly named Godhavn ("Good Harbour") in Danish, while its Greenlandic name, Qegertarsuaq, simply means "The Big Island."

On the afternoon of our day on Disko Island, we will reposition our vessel slightly eastward and launch our fleet of Zodiacs to explore the coastline of Kuannit. Kuannit means "Angelica" in Greenlandic, a nod to the herb that grows abundantly on the island's fertile, south-facing slopes. This stretch of shoreline is one of Greenland's best-kept secrets-lush with greenery nourished by mountain springs, surreal basalt formations carved into caves and waterfalls, and scattered with sapphire-blue icebergs. It is, without question, one of the most breathtaking coastlines in the Arctic.

From Kuannit, we will set a northerly course toward Uummannaq.

DAY 6: UUMMANNAQ (The Greenlandic Riviera) (ON BOARD B/L/D)

The small city of Uummannaq sits perched at the foot of a massive mountain. Like much of the surrounding area, the mountain rises vertically from the icy depths, soaring 1,170 meters into the clear blue sky. Uummannaq Mountain-translated from Greenlandic as "heart-shaped"-is a true Greenlandic icon and a mecca for climbers from around the world. The city itself occupies a small patch of relatively flat ground at the mountain's base and was founded by Danish colonists in 1763.

Some of the original buildings from this era can still be visited along the harbor front.

Be sure to head to the outer decks of the Ocean Albatros during our departure from Uummannaq.

The deep, iceberg-studded blue waters of the fjord and the dramatic vertical cliffs surrounding the city offer some of the most breathtaking views in all of Greenland. With its calm microclimate and round-the-clock summer sunshine, this staggeringly beautiful region has rightly earned the nickname,"the Greenlandic Riviera."

DAY 7: EQIP SERMIA GLACIER (ON BOARD B/L/D)

From Uummannaq, we return to the heart of Disko Bay and set sail toward Eqip Sermia.

If conditions allow, we will launch our fleet of Zodiacs to approach this mighty glacier and hopefully experience the thunderous roar of its frequent calvings from sea level-always from a safe distance, of course.

From Eqip Sermia, we will reposition slightly southward in the evening toward llulissat, the largest city in Disko Bay and proudly known as the Iceberg Capital of the World

DAY 8: ILULISSAT (Iceberg Capital of the World) (ON BOARD B/L/D)

Translated from Kalaallisut simply as "icebergs," llulissat is rightfully known as the Iceberg Capital of the World. Surely, no other city on Earth occupies such a spectacular natural setting. Just a short walk from the harbor lies Ilulissat Icefjord, Greenland's most iconic natural wonder.

Visitors will find excellent amenities, including fresh, locally caught seafood served in the town's cafés and restaurants, as well as unique shopping opportunities. Don't miss the Artist's Workshop above the harbor, where you can purchase handmade artworks directly from local artists.

lulissat typically enjoys dry, sunny weather throughout the summer months, making it ideal for outdoor exploration. A variety of well-marked hiking trails surround the Icefford, offering routes suitable for all levels of ability. During your stay, you'll also have the opportunity to join a boat trip with a local captain to explore the Icefjord (OPTIONAL EXCURSION). Lasting about two and a half hours, this excursion is considered the best way to fully experience the magic of the llulissat Icefjord up close.

For those seeking even more adventure, a flightseeing tour aboard a fixed-wing aircraft offers a breathtaking aerial view of the Icefjord (OPTIONAL EXCURSION).

DAY 9: THE SETTLEMENT OF ITILLEQ (ON BOARD B/L/D)

The Settlement of Itilleq, which roughly translates to "the Crossing Place from the Sea," nestles at the foothills of the mountains and fjords that shape central Greenland's rugged backcountry. Situated just north of the Arctic Circle, Itilleg is one of the many tiny villages scattered along Greenland's coastline.

After departing tilleg, we will head slightly south and enter the stunning 160-kilometer-long Kangerlussuaq Fjord.

DAY 10: KANGERLUSSUAQ - DISEMBARKATION (ON BOARD B/L/D)

During the night, we will sail up the 160-kilometer-long Kangerlussuaq Fjord. After enjoying breakfast aboard the ship, we will bid a fond farewell to the ship's crew, Expedition Team, and fellow travelers before transferring ashore by Zodiac.

Your Arctic adventure and time in Greenland conclude as we board the flight from Kangerlussuaq back to the southern world. Upon arrival, you will check in for an overnight stay at an airport hotel.

DAY 11: COPENHAGEN - MANILA (MEALS ON BOARD)

You will depart from Copenhagen and begin your return journey to Manila.

DAY 12:  MANILA (MEALS ON BOARD)

You will arrive back in Manila, bringing home unforgettable memories from your expedition to the Arctic wilderness.
